Dove Hill Castle

A Norman keep in County Tipperary, 500 meters west of Ballynoran on N24, about three kilometers west of Carrick-on-Suir in the valley of Slievenamon.
It was built by Henry VI in the 14th century. It was in the possession of Connel O’More, a native Irish Chieftain in 1348. He was left undisturbed by the Anglo-Norman conquerors due to services rendered in the field.

Legend has it that Connel O’More desired a beautiful damsel, Evelyn de Lacy, the fair daughter of a wealthy Norman. One day he murdered Evelyn's lover and in regret he fled to the Holy Land to spend his remaining years in penance.
